New tools will let patients enter medication, allergies and other medical information into their record, and allow parents of pediatric patients to collaborate in real time with their children’s physician during hospitalizations via the portal, all of which call for additional steps to secure patient information exchange. “We are in the midst of implementing a three-year cybersecurity risk-management program that was approved by the IT oversight committee of our board," says Michael Ugwueke, president and CEO (pictured). To support providers’ mobile clinical workflow and a better experience for patients and their families, senior leadership approved funding for a major network infrastructure modernization project — a robust wired and wireless network infrastructure with total redundancy and high availability.
