If your organization has implemented CPOE, how long did it take before you reached 50 percent adoption? 75 percent? How long do you think it will take to reach 100 percent?

The Indiana Heart Hospital achieved 75 percent adoption within 90 days. Based on our experience, 100 percent adoption will never be obtainable due to middle-of-the-night or emergency situations where verbal orders are given to ensure proper focus on the patient.
We hope to achieve 50 percent utilization in compliance with ARRA Stage 2 criteria in 2013, assuming 50 percent is the goal of Stage 2.
