Union Hospital has assembled a CPOE Core Team: two executive sponsors, including a member of the hospital executive staff who is also a physician; a Core Team leader; approximately 25 hospital department staff; and a Physician Advisory Committee that consists of 14 physicians of multiple specialties. We are currently implementing the project with order sets that have been approved by the medical staff and are actually currently in use. Our plans are to move to Zynx evidence-based order sets in the near future. We have also conducted site visits to other MEDITECH hospitals with physicians in attendance.

Another important technique that we've been using is an analysis of various physician hardware devices to meet multiple physician preferences. We also use a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt staff member to examine workflow and process improvement.
