The third installment of Hospitals & Health Networks’ Save Lives Now series highlights five relatively simple and inexpensive things hospitals can do to prevent errors in the emergency department. Begun in 2005, to help hospitals prevent avoidable deaths of patients, the Save Lives Now series are based on an extensive review of the latest health care literature, interviews with experts and organizations focused on quality and patient safety, and the advice of clinicians and hospital leaders.
