Up on the hospital's roof, where one can hear the city's elevated trains roar by, they grow produce, host two dozen chickens that lay organic eggs and hose an apiary of 500,000 bees. The rooftop farm also helps to supply products at the farmers markets it hosts. In addition, the farm conducts tours for children that include education on urban farming and healthful eating.
