Aaron Martin knows a thing or two about disrupting an industry. Martin led a team at Amazon that forever changed how books are produced, bought and consumed. He’s now bringing that disruptive force to health care. Senior vice president for strategy and innovation at Providence Health & Services, Martin is heading up an effort at the Renton, Wash.-based health system to create a new value proposition with consumers.

As part of their approach, the health system established Providence Ventures, which will fund and develop innovative technology solutions aimed at improving the consumer experience and care delivery.

Martin spoke to H&HN's Matthew Weinstock at last week’s Non-Profit Health Care Investor Conference in New York City.
