•The Greater Hudson Valley Health System, Middletown, N.Y., comprising Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris and Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, appointed Trish Manna director of audit & compliance analytics and Karen Sieverding director of audit and compliance. Manna joined Orange Regional in 1988 as a data operator. Sieverding started working for Orange Regional in 2009 as director of internal Audit.
•Lanny Copeland, M.D., chief medical officer of LifePoint Hospitals, was appointed to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Advisory Panel on Hospital Outpatient Payment. Copeland was nominated by the American Hospital Association. Mark Poppell, vice president, reimbursement, was appointed to the Rural Health Congress, the policy-making body of the National Rural Health Association.
•Jim Dunn, chief learning officer, Texas Health Resources Center for Learning and Career Development, was appointed to the dean's Nursing Advisory Council. Dunn has conducted research and is published in the areas of strategic HR, gender communications, change management, and informal vs. formal organizational cultures.
•Mark Adams, M.D., who has been a physician with the five-hospital Franciscan Health System in Tacoma, Wash., since 2012, became chief medical officer on March 3. He succeeds Gregory Semerdjian, M.D., who retired. Adams is a board-certified general and vascular surgeon who previously held the position of vice president for medical affairs and assolciation CMO.
