Cigna, the insurance company, recently produced a video encouraging viewers to get an annual checkup.
That doesn’t sound too noteworthy except for the fact that the video is hosted by a number of TV doctors making light of the fact that they don’t know squat about medicine.
While amusing, the video didn’t sit well with the American College of Emergency Physicians, the leaders of which believe that insurers are cutting back on emergency department coverage and the $9 million spent on the ad campaign would be better spent on patients, ACEP counters in a news release.
