Building a culture of compliance not only helps to ensure that hospitals and health systems meet federal and state regulations, it also helps to create a foundation for continuous quality improvement and risk reduction. Attaining this culture takes effort. Compliance leaders first must work to educate and ensure buy-in from their boards, senior leaders, physicians and other stakeholders. Only then can their organizations achieve a workforce that truly believes in and holds itself accountable for strongly maintaining compliance.
