Health care technology has transformed the delivery of patient care and improved quality, safety and efficiency. A high-performing infrastructure is essential for today’s providers to feel confident that the technology they are using is reliable and readily available.

This webinar highlights the importance of building a robust physical layer to support health care technology that allows hospitals to attract top talent, improve the patient experience and reduce costs.

Structured cabling within a hospital or outpatient facility provides the platform upon which all of the communications, building systems and clinical technologies are deployed. From wireless networks to security systems and telemedicine to digital image transfers, all of the data and sometimes even the power to support these applications is being transmitted via network cabling.

Join us as we discuss best practices for deploying copper structured cabling systems to support the specific needs of health care facilities today and tomorrow.

Learning Objectives:
  • Distinguish performance category recommendations for wireless deployment and optimization;
  • Address cable management strategies for high-density transfer rate applications, including operating and procedure rooms;
  • Explain the benefits of Power over Ethernet usage for wireless, networked surveillance cameras and VoIP phones;
  • Identify best practices for deploying copper structured cabling systems to support applications like wireless communications, electronic health records, medical technologies, telemedicine, digital signage displays and Internet Protocol-based building systems;
  • Use physical infrastructure to keep up with new advances and quickly scale up to accommodate additional users, computers and technologies.
